Palestinian Sani Sakakini (204-C/F-1988) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for New Taipei Kings, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 37-year old player was the main contributor (33 points, nine rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat LG Sakers (#4, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 90-78. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Kings maintains the 3rd position in East Asia Super League . Kings is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-2 record. In the team's last game Sakakini had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 8 attempts. It's his second year at Kings and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Sani Sakakini has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 27.0ppg) and averages impressive 56.5% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young Cuban Ismael Romero (205-C-1991) of Meralco Bolts. Romero had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Bolts lost that game 72-82 to Pilots (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Romero is a newcomer at Meralco Bolts, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Kings' star - American forward Jayden Gardner (201-F-2000, agency: MSG). Gardner scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was another key player of New Taipei Kings, helping his team with a 90-78 win against #4 ranked LG Sakers in a game of the week. The chances of Kings not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victory. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Gardner could try to bring Kings' a little bit higher in the standings. Gardner has individually a great season in East Asia Super League. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.0rpg (6th best).
